Finding Contentment in the Saddle - Book 3
Jeremy, recently graduated from law school, sat with his family to celebrate his hard earned accomplishment. Across the dinner table sat a beautiful young woman. He couldn't help but stare. He wasn't a hound dog but his studies had consumed him for seven years and truth be told, he still carried a torch for a girl from his past who would now be a woman. He needed to go to her house and see if she might accompany him on the movie date she'd turned down when he was in his second year of college.
Lindy had changed dramatically in that same time period. She was now slim, shapely and confident in her success. After four years of college she was now a licensed private eye. Business was good. The man sitting across from her didn't know the new Lindy but was rude, undressing her with his eyes and making insulting comments about what she did for a living. It got so bad she had to leave the celebration. She would not show him her tears. She had been so looking forward to his homecoming.
Surviving an assault while in college, she was traumatized but she received a gift beyond anything she could imagine. The horrible man gave her a child that she now raised on her own. He denied that it was him and wanted no parts of the baby. She was a beautiful child, so full of love and life.
Lindy hurt for she deeply missed her friend. They talked in high school that he would become a lawyer and she would work as a private eye helping him with doing investigative work. Jeremy was furious with himself for his rude and horrible behavior toward his life-long friend. He had to find a way to link with her once more.
The man that denied the assault ever happened, came from money. Big money. A lot of money and privilege. Too bad his brains and behavior didn't match his wealth and position but Mamma learned about the assault. Learned about the intelligent woman victim. Learned about the child. She needed an heir for her fortune. She would not leave her hard earned fortune to her only son. The lazy scatterbrain who only knew how to waste money. She needed that child. She would have that child at whatever cost. If the child's mother wouldn't give her child up, well then she might live to see her daughter grow up.

an excellent series of books. You don't have to begin with the 1st to understand the others. I ususlly don't like modern books, but I love the author. You have romance, but not overly sexy, and an interesting mystery. Evan F. Clements has just the right touch.Product details
